项目摘要

2022年度は、新型コロナウイルス感染症（以下コロナとする）感染拡大状況がまだ好転しておらず、海外調査については見送らざるを得なかったため、WEBサイト上で海外での日本美術展と外国語によるサービス状況を調査した。また、文献等により、過去の海外日本美術展での出品履歴や展示概要について調査した。国内での調査は、大阪（大阪中之島美術館、藤田美術館）、および国立アイヌ民族博物館など近年開館した博物館・美術館を中心に、各館における外国人に対するサービスの実態の視察調査、あるいは今後の外国人利用者への施策への考え方などについて聞き取り調査を実施した。その結果、コロナ感染拡大および国の水際対策により、開館計画時見込んでいた外国人来館者は大幅に下回り、実施することを検討していた外国人向け事業は中止となった例があったことを確認した。一方、館内の解説については予定通り英語（大阪中之島美術館）あるいは多言語対応（アイヌ国立博物館）となっており、オンラインによる情報提供もなされている実態が確認できた。英語による博物館での展示解説のガイドライン作成に向けては、その第一歩として日本美術に関係する用語の英訳語について、これまで蓄積した用語集を精査し、これまでの調査成果の蓄積をもとに、研究代表者・分担者が所属する東京国立博物館における日本語から英語への訳語集をまとめ、「Japanese to English translation at the Tokyo National Museum」として冊子を作成・関係先に配布したほか、PDF版をWEB上で公開した。出版の過程において、まだ訳語を確定するにいたらないもの、また英語使用者にとってより有効なものとするため、諸外国の博物館に所属する日本美術担当学芸員にも提供し、用語リストの追加および訳語の検討について協力を依頼したところである。

The British and American museums show that they are designed to be used in the English language of the Japanese Fine Arts Museum, the first Japanese Fine Arts Museum, the Japanese Fine Arts Museum, the Japanese Academy of Fine Arts, the National Museum of Japan, the National Museum of Japan. The "Japanese to English translation at the Tokyo National Museum" is made into a cloth machine, and the PDF version of the WEB is open to the public. The publication of the process training program, the training program to make sure that the information is available to the English users, the owner of the foreign museums, the Japanese art student to provide the information, and the use of the information to make sure that the cooperation between the students and the students is based on the information provided by the students.
