项目摘要

予算スラック関連研究において、これまでいくつかの予算スラックの測定尺度が提案されてきたものの、広くコンセンサスが得られた共通の尺度はいまだ確立されていない。そもそも予算スラックは、マネジャーが意図的に形成するものであるとされているので、予算スラックを形成したマネジャー本人でないと予算スラックの大きさが分からないはずであるため、予算スラックの測定はマネジャー本人の認知に基づかざるを得ないという制約がある。先行研究の知見からは、予算目標の達成可能性の程度が予算スラックの程度のバロメーターとなることが示唆されており、予算目標の達成可能性を定量化することで、それと連動した予算スラックを間接的に測定することは可能といえる。すなわち、予算目標の達成可能性の値を予算スラックの値に変換することで予算スラックを定量化できるのである。ただ、このような変換の公式を設定する際に、マネジャーのパーソナリティ特性が重要変数として検討されなければならない。例えば、リスク中立的なマネジャーに比べ、リスク回避的なマネジャーは予算スラックを形成しやすいため、両者の間には変換公式にも相違が想定される。同様に、ビッグファイブ理論で提唱されている５つの性格特性のうち、情緒不安定性と誠実性の影響も検討すべき課題として研究を進めている。前者の特性が強いマネジャーは予算スラックを形成しやすい反面、後者の特性が強いマネジャーはより正確な真実の情報を提供しがちであるからである。また、マネジャーの楽観主義傾向の度合いによる予算スラックへの影響も考えられる。リスク選好、情緒不安定性、誠実性、楽観主義傾向といった各パーソナリティ特性と予算スラックの関連、さらには予算目標の達成可能性から予算スラックへの変換公式の設定においてこれらのパーソナリティ特性の影響をどのように組み込むかという観点から引き続き関連研究を進めることにしている。
