项目摘要

本研究課題は、1.戦前期家政教育に関わる学術移転の実態の解明、2.専門学としての家政学を構築していった関係者の学問的背景の解明、3.戦後占領軍側から紹介された米国のHome Economicsモデルの内実の解明を目的とし、国外の調査(アメリカ、イギリス)を予定していたが、コロナ禍により調査予定としていた大学アーカイブズへの訪問ができない状況が続いてきた。また感染状況が落ち着きアーカイブズ等の受け入れが再開したタイミングにおいては本務のスケジュールにより調査が実施できなかった。 20年度に新制北海道大学における家政学部設立構想、また構想のキーパーソンの学術的背景等の検討を開始し、家政学部構想は、農学部内において高倉新一郎から提起されていたものであること、またその内容は、家庭経済、消費経済を含んでおり、そうした国民経済に着目した高倉の思想に影響を与えた人物が森本厚吉であることが明らかになった。21年度からは、森本が一貫して編集し、論稿も寄せていた『文化生活』(1923年5月より1930年3月)の論稿整理を開始した。記事からは文化生活運動という社会教育運動・生活改善運動を積極的に推進した森本厚吉と彼を支援する多くの文化人たちの思想とその実践を明らかにできた。女性の経済的自立・産児調節など1920年代の女性問題に言及した論稿からは、当時の実生活に対する教育家・思想家たちのその後の家政学に連なる考えを読み取ることができた。22年度は、①引き続き北大学家政学部構想とその背景を、北大の学術発展のために協定を結んでいたマサチューセッツ州立大学との関連と影響に着目しながら検討した。また、②戦前期日本の家政学、家政教育実践を牽引した東京家政学院の大江スミについて、東京家政学院100年史編さん作業に伴い、これまで収集してきた資料等を精査し、学問的背景に着目して整理を行った。
