本研究の目的は、日本における「教養」概念の成立と展開を明らかにするとともに、「教養」概念の可能性について考察することである。その際ドイツにおけるBildung概念の受容を観点とする。2022年度は、コロナで中止していた交流が再開できた。まず12月３日香川大学で開催した中国四国教育学会第74回大会の公開シンポジウム「SDGｓ時代の教育－教育・学習における変革・変容（transformation)にどう向き合うか」の基調講演者としてThomas Fuhr教授（フライブルク教育大学）を招待し、基調講演「社会と個人のトランスフォーメーション：子ども・若者・成人期における変容的学習の理論」の翻訳・通訳を行った。また2023年３月10日にフライブルクで開催された「操作的教育学会」に参加し、「日独の教育学的基礎概念－Bildungからみた操作的教育学」を発表した。本研究課題であるBildung概念の新たな展開である「変容的陶冶・学習」について日本の学会の場で議論することによって、Bildung概念の変容について理解を深めるとともに、反操作的概念であるBildung（陶冶・教養）と操作的概念であるErziehung（教育）の違いについてドイツ人研究者と議論し、考察を深めた。前者については、中国四国教育学会編『教育学研究ジャーナル』第28号,73-107頁、2023年３月に掲載されている。また日本における「教養」概念の成立に寄与した哲学者・和辻哲郎が、青年期に取り組んだ『ニイチェ研究』(1913)を取り上げ、和辻の「教養」理念形成におけるニーチェ思想の受容の意味について考察した。和辻の思想形成が、煩悶から教養へ、美的享楽から人格主義へという道をたどった中で、ニーチェ思想との格闘が重要な事象であったことが明らかになった。本研究成果を中国四国教育学会『教育学研究紀要』第68巻に掲載した。
