本研究は、近世における煎茶文化が、如何に煎茶書を通して中国の喫茶文化と繋がり、また如何に中国茶書の影響を受けたのかという問題を、解明しようとするものである。当該年度では、江戸時代の煎茶書を総合的に検討し、日本の煎茶書と中国の茶書との受容関係を考察することを中心に扱い、研究を進めた。まず、昨年に引き続いて煎茶書に対して全面的に調査と収集を行った。本年度は特に過去一年間に入手困難のものを中心に調査を実施した。国文学研究資料館や大阪市立美術館ほかに所蔵されている煎茶書を収集した上で、書誌情報を整理してデータベース化を行った。そして、詳細な資料編を作成し、現在公開の準備を進めている。また、これまで未検討であった煎茶書の序跋に対して翻刻を行い、作者の刊行意図を究明した。煎茶書を収集したうえで、解読と分析を行い、多角的な視点から江戸時代の煎茶書の特徴を総合的に把握した。そして、煎茶書の発展と変遷の過程を詳細に分析した。特に、煎茶書の繁栄期の特徴、煎茶書の作者の出身地および身分、煎茶書の文体、煎茶書の書型などを全面的に分析し、詳細な検討を行った。また、煎茶書の内容を考察することで、それが明代の茶書から影響を受けていたことが明らかになり、さらに明代の茶人の製茶法と泡茶法を積極的に受けいれたことを解明した。ほかには、文人趣味の文化的背景として重要な研究価値を持つ煎茶文化に対して、本研究では特に江戸時代中期の漢詩に注目し、京都の禅僧である大典禅師が詠じた喫茶関係の漢詩を解読し、内容の解明を行った。それを通して、茶人が煎茶に託した文人趣味を解明した。また、煎茶趣味の伝播と拡大について日中交流という視点によって新知見を得た。現在は、二年間の研究成果として、収集された煎茶書の書誌情報のデータについてコロナ禍の関係で後日公開する予定である。また、これまでの論文成果を学術書にするための準備を進めている。
