Evidentiality（以下、Evidと略す）の研究においては、その意味論的側面が主流となっているが、本研究課題では、形態的側面と統語的側面に焦点を当て、それらの類型論的特徴を明らかにするのが目的である。その目的を達成させるために、まずはEvidの「候補形式」と呼ぶ形態的な表現類を中心に収集したデータをまとめ、それらと文献に見られる従来の見解を突き合わせながら、Evidの形態的側面について通言語的・類型論的特徴の抽出および整理を行ってきた。前年度（2021年度）からは、本研究課題のもう一つの柱であるEvidの統語構造の分析を開始した。統語論の研究においては、多種多様な文の適否や意味合いを判断するために複数の言語コンサルタントへの直接的な対面での調査が不可欠であるが、前年度同様、本年度（2022年度）も、新型コロナウイルス感染症 (COVID-19)の影響でそのような調査活動だけでなく、海外でのフィールド調査も困難であった。そのため、2021年度に引き続き、本研究代表者がかねてより中心的に調査し、信頼できる言語コンサルトを得ることができるアルメニア語に焦点を当て、特に完了に由来するEvid形式についてどのような統語構造を有しているかを検証することにした。前年度は東アルメニア語を主な対象言語としたが、本年度は西アルメニア語の分析に注力した。Evid形式の古典アルメニア語からの通時的な変遷も手掛かりにしながら、東西二つのアルメニア語間の差異に着目し、Evidの位置づけや形態的および統語的構造について分析した。その成果は、研究分担者となっている科研費課題（19H01257）の研究会において「アルメニア語の動詞活用の統語構造」として、また、2022年度ユーラシア言語研究コンソーシアム年次総会において「アルメニア語の動詞活用とEvidentiality」として発表した。
