项目摘要

本研究は、日本の大学で学ぶ外国人留学生を対象に、グローバルシティズンシップ教育に対する学習者のニーズと特性を把握し、教育方法を検討するものである。令和3年度は、前年度までに実施した、日本の高等教育機関で学ぶ外国人留学生を対象とした「異文化理解に対する意識調査」の調査結果をもとに研究論文を執筆したが、令和４年度は前年度の研究の結果と、研究代表の教育実践の内容に基づき、外国人留学生のための日本語を通して多様性やグローバルシティズンシップについて考える、異文化間教育のための教材、『日本語から異文化理解へ（仮題）』の執筆に着手した。教材は、令和4年までの研究結果にもとに構成している。令和4年までに実施した日本で学ぶ留学生の異文化に対する意識調査から、【母国と日本の比較】【日本語学習への気づき】【ネットワークを作る・参加する】【必要とする異文化間能力】【留学のメリット】という５つが重要な要素にとなっていることが明らかになった。それをもとに、作成を進めている教材では、「日本語から異文化理解へ」のテーマの下、「留学とは」「日本語とは」「文化とは」という大きく3つのサブテーマを設定し、サブテーマごとにトピック（情報を提供する読解教材）とワークを通じて、日本語学習と日本留学をきっかけに、日本語や異文化を多角的に考え、自己を振り返りながら異文化理解やグローバルシティズンシップの醸成することを目指している。そのほか、令和4年度の研究活動としては、本科研の研究基盤となっている、研究代表者の博士論文を出版した。さらに、本研究の周辺領域として、教育現場における多様性の受容と多様性を生かした教育実践の研究、そして多文化共生に必要とされる市民リテラシーの研究にも参加した。多様性については、特に高等教育の現場において配慮すべき課題について整理した論文をまとめ、青木・鄭編著（2023）の一部として刊行された。
