As mentioned in previous reports, difficulties with accessing research sites and securing participants resulted in a shift to the analysis of high school-level English textbooks, focusing on how the phenomenon of globalization is depicted to impact Japan and what roles the English language plays in facilitating this process.An initial analysis was completed, but the researcher decided to perform the analysis once again based on an updated list of the most commonly used high school-level English textbooks in Japan.This analysis is nearly complete and will be used as the basis for forthcoming submissions to academic conferences and journals.
