本研究課題は、持続可能なクラフトのためのローカルな協働に関する事例研究を行うものである。当該年度には、まず、組織論、経営学、地域経済学を中心に、近年の研究動向を把握したり、ファッションやクラフトの歴史に関する文献を集め、その内容を吟味した。事例研究に関しては、まず、福岡の久留米絣織元の調査を集中的に行うことができた。そこでは、類似した製品技術を用いる企業でありながら、様々な形で持続可能なクラフトのあり方が探求されていた。また、地域の様々なアクターによる連携についてもさらなる深まりを見せていた。次に、別の調査では、日経商社やテキスタイルコンバーターに対して、近年のファッション業界の動向や海外市場へのマーケティング活動に関する具体的な事例についてインタビューすることができた。日本のクラフトをどのように捉えるべきかについては、日本在住歴の長い外国生まれのクラフト専門家の見解に触れたことで、さらに理解が深まった。さらに、山梨県富士吉田の調査では、クラフト的な企業、行政職員、県内で活動するデザイナーなどの専門家が連携し、これまでにないイベントを開催し、一定の成果を収めていることが明らかとなった。以上のような活動は、その範囲や規模の違いはあれ、八王子、秩父などの他産地でも確認することができた。各地で、持続可能なクラフトのあり方を探求するローカルな協働が形成されていることが判明した。本研究事業の中間報告として、日本中小企業学会九州部会において、久留米絣織元の戦略再構築プロセスに関する報告を行った。
