研究代表者は，これまで主に業績評価を含むマネジメント・コントロールの設計とその効果との関係した異なる3つの分析フレームワークのもとで，シミュレーションモデルの開発を試み，それぞれの検証のため，コンピュータシミュレーションの技法を用いて得られた（他の定量的（経験的な）なデータと同様に統計解析などにより）検証可能なデータからそれぞれ研究課題に対応した含意の抽出試みてきた。こうした研究成果を統合していく作業に専念してきた。まずは，それぞれの主だった成果について要約しておくと，第一に，業績評価におけるエージェントの私的情報の自己報告に関するプリンシパルとのコミュニケーションであり，エージェントから高努力を引き出すための，管理会計情報の特性（管理可能性とインフォーマティブネス）とコミュニケーションの頻度との関係性について検証している。第二は，組織の中の社会ネットワークと業績評価の設計によるエージェント（マルチエージェント）による学習効果への影響であり，組織のネットワーク構造と業績指標の集約度の程度が，個々のエージェントの学習の促進に影響することを明らかにできた。第三に，トップマネジャーによるマネジメント・コントロールのコンフィギュレーション（デザインのパターン）の探索をモデル化して，相互依存し合う様々なコントロールを通じて，バランスをどう取りながら，ハイパフォーマンスに到達するのかについて一定の知見を得ることができた。そうした研究成果を取りまとめつつ，どのように統合していくか検討してきた。海外を中心にマネジメント・コントロールあるいは管理会計（原価計算）の研究領域におけるシミュレーションの活用が散見され，そうした研究の潮流についても考慮しながら，モデルの構築とそのコンピュータ解析からマネジメント・コントロールの先行研究への新たな知見を見出すことに専念してきた。
