The Global Justice Network has published the journal Global Justice: Theory Practice Rhetoric (TPR) since 2008 in a open access format.The GJN is a network of political theorists and philosophers who stem from different countries (including Australia, Belgium, Germany, France, Israel, Italy, Nigeria, Hungary, US) and who have joined efforts in 2006, during their doctoral studies, in order to promote a interdisciplinary and practice oriented exchange of ideas pertaining to the topic of global justice. The editors of the journal aim to shape and influence the debate around global justice in two ways. The first aim is to give more prominence to practice oriented research results, since this methodology is best suited to provide insightsand clarification when discussing normative questions. The second aim is to publish high-quality articles on questions pertaining to global justice in an open-access format, in order to further the dialogue and exchange between research and policy makers and to allow all researchers unimpeded access to the research. During the second funding period between 2018 and 2021, it was the goal of the editors to consolidate the reputation of the journal by publishing high-quality and innovative articles, to increase exposure of the journal through different means, including employing social media, and the professionalization of the editorial work on the journal.The goals for the journal for the now requested funding period between 2021 and 2023 are twofold. First, the editors aim to pursue and continue the productive work carried out over the last 6 years – however, the project is to move from the University of Frankfurt to Hamburg University while keeping the online administration of the journal in Frankfurt. Second, the editors aim to develop a marketing package based on which the editors will be able to approach academic publishers to solicit advertisements for the journal website. This will allow for the journal to transition to a viable and independent financial model. Establishing an independent financing model is especially important considering financial sustainability of the journal.
