项目摘要

本研究は、自給的な生業を営んできたラオス北部の農村に、隣国ともつながる道路が到達してグローバル化の影響が直接的に及ぶようになった結果、地域住民はどのように生業戦略を変化させ、暮らしを安定化させているのかを明らかにすることを目的としている。2022年度については、コロナ禍の中で実施してきた文献調査を実施してきた成果を出版することができた。本地域では、多様な自然資源に依拠した生業戦略が営まれてきたが、この生業戦略や資源利用の歴史的変遷に関する一端が明らかになった。また、調査対象地域の農村における生業戦略の変遷を扱った論文の出版や研究発表を複数行うことができた。これまで生業の安定化には生業活動の多様化を伴うことが示唆されており、それらが主に2つの多様化、すなわち追いやられた多様化（distress diversification）と前進的な多様化（progressive diversification）として理解できることが先行研究によって示されてきた。一方本研究が対象とする地域では、これまで「追いやられた多様化」における典型的な活動とされてきた林産物採取が、農村の安定的な経済発展につながる可能性が示唆された。これまで営まれてきた複合生業の各機能を変化させて対応しており、またそれには多様な自然資源を有し資源の冗長性を有することが重要であった。生業全体や土地利用が単純化する中でも副次的な機能を持つ生業が生業全体の長期的な安定化に大きく貢献していることが明らかとなった。

This study aims at the direct and indirect effects of road access on the development of self-supporting industries in the rural areas of northern China and neighboring countries, as well as the results of the strategic transformation and stabilization of industries in the region. In 2022, we conducted a literature survey and published the results. This region has a wide range of natural resources, and the development of natural resources is closely related to the development of natural resources.
