2022年度は、東京大学人文情報学リサーチハブの支援により、定期的に研究手法についての相談を行う機会を得ることができた。その結果、これまで反復的な探索を行ってきたデータ構築作業における不明点の多くが解決し、研究成果の可視化に関する新しい知見を獲得した。分析作業の進展に対するこれらの影響は重大であった。本年度の成果は主に二つの項目に集約される。第一に、国際会議および国内の研究会にて行われた成果報告である。2022年6月に開催された6th Annual Lagos Studies Association Conferenceにて、ナイジェリア歴史新聞の分析に際して計量テキスト分析ソフトウェアKH Coderを用いる際の適用方法や留意点、初期の分析結果について発表した。2023年1月には、龍谷大学社会科学研究所指定研究「台頭するアフリカ地域大国ナイジェリアの総合的研究」2022年度第3回研究会で、Lagos Observer紙(1882-88)およびLagos Weekly Record紙(1891-1921)に掲載された地域の分析手法について報告した。2023年2月のDH(Digital Humanities)フェス2023では、歴史研究にKH-Coder, MTMineR, Voyant Tools, LIWC等、複数のソフトウェアを併用する際の課題について共有する機会を得た。第二に、2022年11月にイギリスにてオンラインデータベース上に収容されていないLagos Weekly Record紙のマイクロフィルムの複写を行った。この史料収集の際には、バーミンガム大学のカーリン・バーバ教授とケンブリッジ大学のアンソニー・ホプキンズ教授に、イギリス領ナイジェリアで出版された歴史新聞研究の展望について、相談する貴重な機会を得た。

Second, in November 2022, the Lagos Weekly Record was published. This is a valuable opportunity for the collection of historical materials, the development of the university, the promotion of the university.
