项目摘要

本研究は、企業の地理的な分布と会計情報の関係について分析することを主な目的としている。昨年度までの研究の進捗が非常に良好であり、当初目標とされた企業の地理的な分布の直接的な会計情報（特に利益調整）への影響は分析が完了している。このため、昨年度に引き続き2022年度は、日本企業のコンテクストに基づくコーポレートガバナンスの影響について、詳細に分析を進めた。コーポレートガバナンスは、企業が属する国や地域、あるいは企業文化のコンテクストによって、多様であり同じ仕組みを取り入れても同じような規律付けが作用するかがわからない。企業の地理的な展開を考えた際、このようなガバナンスの役割は極めて重要であり、昨年度の研究成果をもとに研究に取り組んでいる。本年度における具体的な成果は、日本企業の多くが採用しているステークホルダー志向のコーポレート・ガバナンスを前提としたとき、その経営戦略は独特であり、結果として会計数値の解釈に注意しなければならないことが明らかとなった点である。とりわけ、本年度は実体的利益調整行動の分析指標として用いられるRoychowdhuryの代理変数がステークホルダー志向のコーポレート・ガバナンスの下ではバイアスを持つことが示された。近年、実体的利益調整に関する研究は日本でも多く行われており、本研究の発見は、利益調整行動研究における代理変数の選択やコントロールを考えるうえで非常に重要であると思われる。
