本研究は、日系アメリカ人四世に対するインタビュー調査や参与観察を通し、世代交代を経た日系アメリカ人の文化変容と社会的位置づけ及びその要因を明らかにする。当該年度は米国で日系アメリカ人四世を対象にインタビュー調査、参与観察等を予定していたが、研究代表者の妊娠出産のため、海外への渡航が困難であった。そこで、過去のデータの整理や新たな資料収集及び整理などを実施した。また、来日経験のある日系アメリカ人四世を対象に実施した過去のインタビュー調査データの整理を行い、論文執筆を進め、日系アメリカ人の来日経験とそれがエスニックアイデンティティに与えた影響について分析、今後の調査の参考になるよう整理した。
