项目摘要

メーカーと小売店などの垂直的取引において，競合他社との取引を禁ずる契約を排他条件付取引契約（以下，排他契約）という．こうした契約は，ライバル企業を排除する反競争的な効果を持つ．これまでの理論研究により，特定の状況において，排他契約によるライバルの排除が発生することが明らかになっているが，現実の競争政策への対応を考えると，更なる状況の整理が求められる．本研究では，排他契約関連の個別の事件の特性を考慮し，理論分析及び実験分析を行い，競争政策の運営に貢献することを目指す．2022年度の研究進捗状況は，以下の通りである．まず，理論研究では，本研究計画において継続して取り組んできた耐久財市場における排他契約の研究論文を完成させた．論文は，産業組織およびビジネスエコノミクスの分野の英文査読誌であるJournal of Economics & Management Strategyに受理されている．次に，実験研究では，排他契約をめぐる川上企業間の競争に注目した理論研究において，実験の結果を取り入れた研究成果を日本経済学会秋季大会で報告した．また，実験の結果の頑健性に関する研究についても，とりまとめを行った．研究をとりまとめを行う中で，追加実験を検討する必要が生じたため，追加実験の方向性について，共同研究者と打ち合わせを重ねた．追加実験は，2023年度に実施する予定である．なお，上記の分析で得られた知見を利用した研究成果として，3本の研究論文が英文査読誌に受理されている．
