在日外国人は、医療へのアクセスの面で社会的弱者であり、人数が増えている現状にも関わらず、在日外国人の母子に特化した実態に関する研究の数はいまだ少なく、近年の動向を示す統計データも2002年以降の継続的なデータは存在しない。①在日外国人における母子保健指標は、日本人と比較して現在でも悪いのかを把握すること、②在日外国人における母子保健サービス利用の状況を妊娠期から小児期に至る各サービスにおいて調査を行い、更に、継続ケアのサービス利用決定要因として社会経済的地位や母親のソーシャル・キャピタルや知識との関連を明らかにすることの2点を目的とする。当初の研究計画では２部構成からなる後ろ向き研究とアンケート調査実施予定であった。国がもつ統計データを使用し、わが国における在日外国人の現状と推移を母子保健指標に関して把握し、2002年までの解析を行った結果と比較し、在日外国人の母子保健指標が現状でも悪いのか、そして日本人との差異を明らかにするという実施計画でありましたが、既存データに国籍の把握がされていなかったこと、区レベルでの保健センターでのデータ共有が困難という状況であったため、データの入手先の交渉中で終わった。よって、データ入手には至らず、解析ができなかった。2022年度も引き続きデータの入手先の交渉を進めながら、既存データでの解析が困難である場合は、新たに国籍を含めたデータ収集の可能性を探る。更に、当初の研究計画の予定であった、前向き研究の部分であるアンケート調査実施に向けて準備をしていく。コロナ感染症により対面などのアンケート調査が困難であったため、今後非対面にて調査が可能かを検討し調査可能な対象者にコンタクトをとる。
