2020年度と2021年度に計画していた海外渡航は、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大のためすべて中止となっていたが、2022年度に渡航を再開することができた。2022年4～7月には、渡航にそなえて関係者とオンラインで打ち合わせをおこない、研究体制の再整備に努めるとともに、これまでに蓄積したデータの分析、国内の学会等での発表、コンゴ民主共和国における研究に関する論文の執筆をおこなった。2022年8～9月にガボンとタンザニアに渡航して、情報収集や研究打ち合わせをおこなうとともに、研究成果のとりまとめおよび国際発信の方針について関係者と検討した。ガボンでは、国際ゾウの日にあわせて開催された人とゾウの関係に関する国際シンポジウムに参加し、ゾウによる獣害と住民による対策の状況について発表した。2022年10～12月には、オンラインツールを用いた共同研究を進め、ガボンにおける研究に関する論文の執筆をおこなった。2022年12月～2023年1月にガボンに渡航し、共著論文に関する意見交換をおこなうとともに、投稿の準備を進めた。また、これまでの研究との比較の視点からガボンのロペ国立公園を調査地にくわえることとし、2023年1月に研究協力者らとともにUniversity of Stirling（英国）を訪問して、Kate Abernethy教授をはじめとするロペ国立公園の研究チームと共同研究の議論をおこなった。2023年2～3月には共著論文を投稿するとともに、本研究課題の締めくくりとなる2023年度の渡航と成果発表の準備を進めた。
