The aims of the project are the digitization and detailed indexing of the watermarks of the Bavarian State Librarys’ music manuscripts up to the end of the 17th century. This includes all manuscripts with part music (tablatures, part books, choirbooks, resp. manuscripts with choirbook notation).The watermarks will be digitized via thermal imaging and long-term preserved.„Wasserzeichen Informations-System“(WZIS) as well as the OPAC of Répertoire International des Sources Musicales (RISM) will be the databases where the results of the project are to be presented. Furthermore, the results will be added to the Virtual Library of Musicology (ViFa Musik) and implemented into the local catalogue and the Gateway Bayern.
