本研究の目的は、変化の激しい事業環境における企業の持続的な成長要因の解明を目指し、環境変化に適応するために既存の社内外の資源を結合、再配置する企業変革能力（ダイナミック・ケイパビリティ）に取締役会が与える影響について調査することにある。そのために、2022年度はダイナミック・ケイパビリティ関連の文献渉猟を行い、ダイナミック・ケイパビリティ研究の動向を把握するとともに、現時点では取締役会を含むコーポレートガバナンスが企業のダイナミック・ケイパビリティに与える影響に関して取り扱っている文献は少なく、またそうした関係に言及している文献でも主要な対象として議論されていることはほとんどないことがわかり、十分に研究が進められていないことが明らかにされた。一方で、現実の企業（とくに日本企業）では、社外取締役の積極的な登用が進み、そのコーポレートガバナンス体制に変容が見られるものの、そのことが企業の変革や環境適応に対して良い効果を与えているのかどうかに関しては必ずしも明確にされていない。これらのことから、本研究の焦点である取締役会とダイナミック・ケイパビリティの関係は、現代の企業経営研究におけるリサーチギャップを埋める重要なテーマであることがわかった。また、取締役会の構造等がダイナミック・ケイパビリティ、そして持続的な競争優位と成長に与える影響を予測するための準備作業として、マルチエージェント・シミュレーションに関する文献入手とシミュレーション方法の検討を実施するともに、分析に必要な機器の入手を進めた。
