项目摘要

(1)日英語条件文の対照言語学的研究昨年度に引き続き、プロトタイプ論的観点から日英語の条件文研究を行った。中でも日本語のナラ条件文と英語のif文との共通性、相違性について研究を深めた。小説等の大量のデータを詳細に分析した結果、特に通常の仮定条件文をあらわすナラ条件文の条件節の時制について興味深い現象が観察された。これについては、平成11年12月に開催された日本語文法談話会(於:一橋大学)でその成果の一部を発表した。それにより、これまで筆者が主張してきたプロトタイプ論的アプローチによる条件文の研究の妥当性がさらに確認された。また、2月にはアメリカの南カリフォルニア大学、スタンフォード大学、カリフォルニア大学バークレー校に出張した。特に、スタンフォード大学ではMark Turner氏に筆者の最近の研究について説明する機会があり、筆者の分析が十分に進んでいなかった総称文との関連や、過去の事実をあらわす条件文の分析について有益なコメントをうけた。バークレーでEve Sweetser氏とも議論する機会を得たが、筆者の意図するところが十分に伝わらず、問題が残った。(2)条件と主題についての研究条件と主題の共通性、相違性については古くから多くの研究があるが、まだ十分に解決されているとは言えない。筆者は、かねてより日本語の主題形式「は」の条件的解釈について研究をすすめてきた。とくに、述語のタ系連用形(テ形)+「は」による条件文について、さまざまな角度から分析し、その成果が、平成11年12月発行の国語学に掲載されることになった。

(1)A Study of English Language Conditions in China A Study on the Common and Contradictory Features of Chinese and English Texts A large number of documents such as novels are analyzed in detail, and the results are particularly interesting. The Japanese Language Grammar Conference (at Hitotsubashi University) was held in December 2011. The author maintains that the conditions for the study are appropriate. In February 2010, the University of South Africa, the University of South Africa, and the University of South Africa opened up. In particular, Mark Turner's recent research at the University of New York illustrates the opportunities for the author's analysis to be very advanced and relevant, and the conditions for the analysis of past events are useful.
