本研究の目的は、弦楽器演奏を中心とするコンピテンシー・ベイスの授業を開発すること、そのため、弦楽器演奏の授業を立案、実施、検証し、演奏体験がもたらす音楽表現への新たな気づきについて鑑賞学習を通して立証し、コンピテンシー・ベイスの根拠とすることであった。研究成果は以下のとおりである。まず、弦楽器の演奏を中心に位置づけた器楽授業2つを立案、実施した。1つは、弦楽器の基礎技能習得のための授業として、外部講師を活用した三味線ワークショップにおいて、事前学習を位置づけることによる学習効果を検証した。2つは、第1学年「パッヘルベル作曲『カノン』のコードにのせてつくって演奏しよう」である。これは、ヴァイオリン活動で学習した「カノン」の発展学習として、「カノン」のコード進行に注目し、コードにのせてヴァイオリン、三味線、筝、ギター、リコーダー、キーボード、ピアノで自由に創作を楽しみながら、全体として合奏表現となる活動である。次に、これらの弦楽器演奏経験がもたらす音楽表現への気づきの変容を鑑賞授業のプレ・ポストの記述文の変容を比較した結果、弦楽器学習前の記述には少なかった、弦楽器の発音原理やヴァイオリンのボーイングやヴィヴラートといった演奏の仕方に関する語彙が増加し、演奏経験の影響を確認することができた。撥弦楽器(減衰音)と擦弦楽器(持続音)の両方の演奏体験をさせることは、小学校までに経験してきた、打楽器(減衰音)とリコーダーや鍵盤ハーモニカといった楽器(持続音)・歌唱表現、それぞれの音楽表現の特徴と違いを他の表現媒体へ応用する発想を育てる可能性が大きく、本研究ではコンピテンシー・ベイスの授業開発の方向性が確認できた。購入した多機能タブレットは、鑑賞授業での教材提示、生徒の音楽活動の動画や音源を記録し検証することに有効に活用できた。
