「テクニカルライティング技術」(岸、2008)とは、読み手の認知の視点を取り入れた文章表現技術をさす。学習者が文章理解の認知的プロセスを学び、その知識を活用して、読み手の立場に立ったマニュアル表現などの説明技術を学んでいくテクニカルライティング技術の授業開発が本研究の目的である。この研究開発は、中学2年生(1クラス30人×4クラス)を対象に行われた。今回は特に「手続きを伝えるマニュアル」に着目し、その作成を行うワークショップ形式の授業を実施した。荷方邦夫(金沢美術工芸大学准教授、認知心理学者)が授業プランへの助言および授業での中学生への実地指導を一部行った。実施した授業は「『日本一分かりやすい紅茶のいれ方』マニュアル」の作成である。まず、紅茶のいれかたについて動画で見て学び、その後、そのいれ方を、各自A4版一枚で、言葉、写真を組み合わせたマニュアルとして表現していく。テクニカルライティング技術指導の要素としては、手順を説明するマニュアルを作成するためのさまざまな視点、技術が含まれる、以下の「理解力」「表現力」「説明力」の観点を取り上げ、指導した。・「理解力」説明内容のポイント、手順をつかみ、伝えたい内容を理解する力。・「表現力」手順やポイントを的確に伝えるためのマニュアル表現を吟味する力。・「説明力」ユーザーの目線にたってマニュアル表現(説明内容・方法)を調整する力。さらに、マニュアルの表現について、「用語」「内容・構成」「体裁」「ビジュアル表現」「ユーザーの動機付け支援」の項目について具体的な手引きを作成し、マニュアル作成をする際に学習者が意識できるように示した。また、試作したマニュアルを「ユーザー評価」として、他者からのフィードバックを受け、さらに伝わりやすくなるように表現を洗練させるようにした。なお、作成したマニュアルの評価については、稲垣忠(東北学院大学教授、教育工学)の監修のもと、「マニュアル制作の思考」と「マニュアル制作の表現」の二つの観点を立ててルーブリックを作成し、パフォーマンス評価を行い、その学習効果を検証した。
