项目摘要

本研究では福岡市東区志賀島地区に在住し、博多湾、玄界灘を漁業として沿岸漁業を営む漁業者について、民俗誌的な検討を行った。平成25年度の科学研究費助成事業(奨励研究)の成果を踏まえ、より調査を深化させたものである。この研究では1938年生まれの漁業者A氏が営む漁撈活動を対象に、おもに聞き取り調査を行った。特に前年度に仕切書に基づいて分析した2012年の漁業暦に挙げられた各種の漁業について、漁具漁法の面から調査した。年間のA氏の漁撈活動は、刺網・ひき縄、一本釣りで構成されるが、これらは活用される民俗知に大きな違いがあり、そこからはA氏の漁撈に関わる多様かつ広汎な知の枠組みを窺い知ることができた。特にシオ(潮汐潮流)の知識は漁撈活動と深く連関し、漁業種類によってその活用に大きな違いがあることを認められた。また、前年度の調査ではA氏の年周的、月周的な漁撈活動の分析を試みたが、今回はA氏の日周的な活動の調査も行った。ここでは出漁の可否が「天気予報」で判断されることや、漁場の選択が「携帯電話」による漁業者間の情報交換によって左右される点を知ることができた。今日の漁撈を考えるうえでは、漁業者が伝承してきた民俗知や、漁撈活動のなかで獲得してきた経験知とともに、こうした現代的なツールについても勘案してゆく必要を指摘できる。さらに、A氏がどういった経緯で漁業に従事することになり、70才を過ぎた現在も漁に出ているのかをライフヒストリー的調査から検討した。そのなかでは特に、彼が「イオ(魚)と遊ぶことが楽しか。」と述べる言葉に着目した。生業が単に生計を維持するための活動ではなく、生きがい論のうえから考える必要を考察した。
