【研究目的】志願者及びその保護者を対象とした情報公開に焦点をあて、対象者のニーズに応える積極的・効果的な情報公開について検証し、集積され発信された大学情報を大学の職員組織の改善に活用する方法を模索することで、情報公開を大学の改善活動(IR)に資することを目的とする。【研究方法】①アンケート調査 : 対象者に求められている情報(ニーズ)の把握と蓄積方法、情報収集及び発信方法、職員組織の連携の課題を分析するため、全国の私立大学(大学院大学を除く)の入試広報担当者に対して郵送により調査(2014年11月～12月。配付数 : 580、回答数 : 239、回答率 : 41.2%)。②国内インタビュー調査 : 国内大学3校(IR関連部署を設置している大学)に対して、学内での情報収集・蓄積、意思決定への活用等関連業務に関する調査(2014年9月～12月)。③国外インタビュー調査(英国) : 4つの大学のIR関連部署に対して学内での情報収集・蓄積、意思決定への活用等関連業務に関する調査、及びHESA(英国高等教育統計局)に対して各大学からの情報の集約・活用等関連業務に関する調査(2015年2月)。【研究結果】国内大学では情報の収集・分析を進めているものの改善指摘にとどまり、実際の改善への反映、学内外への発信方法等について試行錯誤段階の大学が多いという結果が得られた。一方、英国大学では情報の収集・分析結果はトップ層・関連部署と共有され、その際には改善策まで提示されていた。これは、大学トップへの報告頻度の多さや、学外からの注目度の高さが主たる要因であり、学内外への情報発信の方法や見せ方に多くの時間を使用していた。今後は、志願者等の直接的なステークホルダーのみならず、目に見えにくい国内外のステークホルダーも意識し、自大学の魅力を引き出せるような情報収集・分析・報告・改善・発信のしくみをつくることが必要である。
