项目摘要

遺構調査については、約300万m^2の山塊に残る遺構を8区に分け、10月までに全ての実測調査を終えた。その結果は1/1000の「縄張り図」に作製した。遺構が予想外に広範囲に及んだこと、ブッシュが激しかったこと、複雑な遺構が多かったこと、天候に恵まれなかった等が影響して、現地調査に予想以上の時間を要してしまい、3月に刊行を予定していた調査報告の作製が遅れているが、まずは当初の目標どおり、立花山城塞群の全容を解明することができた。また、立花山城塞群の構造を解明するうえで有益な関連城郭の遺構調査、および文献・絵図史料の調査・発掘も予想以上の成果を得て完了した。現在は、調査報告書の刊行に向けて「縄張り図」の浄書と遺構の解説文を作成中である。また、立花山城塞群の縄張り構造を通して、戦国末期の北部九州国人衆の権力構造や織豊政権および朝鮮役等の実像を解明する研究論文を数編の付論としてまとめる予定であり、これも併せて作成中である。そして、13年度の7月中には、単に遺構の現状報告に止まらない、内容の充実した研究報告書を刊行する予定である。なお、前年度を含めた現在までの研究成果の一部は、12年11月25日に新宮町シーオーレで開かれた新宮町文化講演会「立花山城の構造にみる福岡近世の幕開け-立花道雪から小早川隆景へ-」において発表した。ここでは地域住民に、文字史料偏向型の従来史学の危険性と城郭遺構を用いた地域史の再検証の必要性を説き、そのための城郭遺構の保存・継承と社会科教材としての活用を訴えた。以上が12年度の研究成果である。
