本研究の出発点は,代表者佐藤と共同研究者Denker(Gottingen大)によるシルピンスキ・ガスケットのマルティン境界表現であった.この表現を構成するマルティン距離はマルティン核とその定義正数列ごとに定まり,ただ一つの位相を定めるが,一般にはLipschitz同値性を持たない.フラクタルのハウスドルフ次元がLipschitz同値でない距離に関しては不変でないことを考えると,この事実は重要である.本研究では(Denker ＆ Satoの)マルティン距離のLipschitz同値性をその定義正数列で完全に特徴づけることに成功し,特にマルティン距離がユークリッド距離とLipschitz同値になるための必要十分条件を得た.これらの結果は分担者今井淳とともに日本数学会秋季総合分科会(2002年9月,島根大学),「クンツ環のフラクタル集合上の表現と数理物理への応用」研究集会(2002年11月,京大数理解析研),実解析学シンポジウム(2002年11月,鹿児島大学),「Aspects of Mathematics on Fractals」国際研究集会(2003年1月,京大数理解析研),「Fractal Geometry and Stochastics III」国際研究集会(2003年3月,ドイツ)で報告するとともに,国際研究誌に投稿中である.他方共同研究者Denkerを招聘し,マルティン境界表現によるシルピンスキ・ガスケット上の調和解析について討論,特にマルティン境界表現におけるディリクレ形式の定式化について分担者今井がDenkerとの共著論文をまとめつつある.

This study shows that the representative of Sato co-researcher Denker (Gottingen) is a co-researcher named Sato. Peking University Mathematical understanding and Research), Fractal Geometry and Stochastics III International Research Conference (March 2003, March 2003) reported that there was a great deal of trouble in the contribution of the international research conference.
