项目摘要

体育系学部の学生のほとんどが、体育・スポーツ・健康・福祉に関わる仕事に就く事を希望し、大学での専門教育によって得られる知識や経験、資格は把握しているが、それらを将来の職業に結びつける具体的なキャリア形成ルートが不明確なために、就職準備が遅れている。そのため、一般的な業種や企業に興味本位で向かう傾向があり、数年で離職して教職免許取得のために戻って来る者もいる。教職を希望する学生は、目標やルートは明確であるが、採用試験の倍率が高いことが動機づけを低下させている。体育・スポーツ・健康・福祉に関連する職業に対応し、様々な資格が取得可能な学科やコースの新設や改編を行っている組織もあるが、卒業と資格取得だけでは、学生のニーズや期待に応えるだけの就職実績を挙げられない。明確なキャリアプランを示し、実践力や資格取得だけでなく、専門学校とは異なり、職域や職場を開拓・改善していくための専門的な知識やリーダーシップ、そのためのプロセスを学ぶカリキュラムが必要だと言えるが、こうしたカリキュラムや組織改革が進んでいるとは言えない。その理由は、学科やコースを改編しても、その構成員である教員・スタッフあるいはその意識を変えることが難しいということにある。教員は、社会や学生のニーズに合わせて変わる教育活動よりも、継続的に研究や競技指導の活動を積み上げていきたいと考える。教員の研究や競技指導という財産を教育活動や学部経営に活かせるかは、教育組織の長にかかっている。成果を挙げているアメリカやオーストラリアの体育系学科は、規模が小さいこともあるが、研究と教育へのキャパシティの配分等、長による経営システムがうまく稼働している。教育組織の評価項目には国際交流が含まれ、海外の大学も積極的に交流の実績を求めている。体育系教育機関の組織運営や体育・スポーツの国際戦略のためにも、海外との交流を積極的に進めていく必要がある。
