平成20年度はヒト成人を対象とした実験、およびリスザルを対象とした実験のテスト試行を実施した。これまで得られたデータを分析し、論文および報告書の執筆を行った。<ヒト成人を対象とした実験>今年度は昨年度の実験(色情報の効果)に引き続き、因果知覚と音声情報との関連を検討する実験を行なった。モニター上方左右から中央に向かって同時に運動し、接触した後に下方左右へ運動する2つの円刺激を用いた。接触前後の速度比(1:5,3:3,5:1)を変数として変化させた。加えて、接触前後に音声情報を導入し、音声情報が速度比による因果事象の見えにどのように影響を与えるか検討した。特に聴覚刺激の周波数、音圧、視覚刺激との同期性が因果事象に与える影響を検討した。その結果、周波数の変化は音へのイメージ変化と関連していること、同期性の変化は特定の速度変化と結びついて因果知覚に影響を与えることが示唆された。<リスザルを対象とした実験>昨年度から引き続きテスト試行を行った。独立変数は接触前後の速度比(1:5,2:4,3:3,4:2,5:1)であった。リスザルの課題は指定した刺激が最終的に運動した位置をボタン押しにより反応することであった。すべてのサルのデータを分析した結果、リスザルは2つの運動物体の速度比3:3,4:2,5:1においてチャンスレベル(50%)よりも有意に通過事象(Passing)として知覚した。この結果はリスザルとヒトの因果知覚が何らかの共通性に基づいて知覚されていることを示唆するものであった。
