There are dispersed settlements in Iki island all around. Their beginning and actual conditions are yet unknown in detail.In this study, the natural and the geographical features of this is land and the allotment system of land in the Edo period are investigated in relation to the settlement pattern. And it is made clear that "the land use pattern of Iki" is a set of the land use consisting of a windbreak at the back, a dwelling lot, a vegetable garden in the front and scattered farmlands.Then the spatial and the social structures of dispersed settlements are explained : especially, the dwelling lot with the windbreak and the vegetable garden has a ecological and self-supporting order, social systems what they call "HURE" and "KOHJYUH" tie the dispersed dwellings hard and support dispersed settlements.In conclusion their problems in planning are considered.

在伊基岛上到处都有分散的定居点。本研究从聚落形态的角度出发，对江户时代的自然地理特征、土地分配制度等进行了考察。明确了“伊基的土地利用模式”是由后方防风林、住宅用地、前方菜园和分散的农田组成的土地利用组合，并对分散聚落的空间结构和社会结构进行了解释。特别是有防风林和菜园的住宅小区，具有生态、自给的秩序，他们称之为“HURE”和“KOHJYUH”的社会系统将分散的住宅牢牢地捆绑在一起，并支持分散的住区。2最后，他们在规划中的问题得到了考虑。
