In a joint experimental/numerical approach, the relationship between phase transition, heat and mass transfer and wave dynamics and the properties of the nanoparticles formed during laser ablation in aqueous solution will be examined in detail. The hypothesis is that the temporally variable state properties in the generated cavitation bubble have an effect on the particle distribution and that an indirect influence of the generated particle properties by controlling the cavitation bubble formation is possible. Based on the analysis of the experimental and numerical data, empirical strategies for indirectly influencing the particle properties are to be derived by targeted, spatially and temporally delayed generation of cavitation bubbles at the target and investigated for their mechanisms of action by numerical simulation.
