英文摘要
The Second Workshop "Patient-oriented Research in Infection Medicine" is geared to foster early career investigators. Participants will be given the opportunity to develop their own research ideas into excellent grant proposals and to receive their first funding. Furthermore, participants will be enabled to develop their own scientific network. With this program, patient-oriented research will be strengthened in the medium term.Based on a short application, about 40 participants will be invited to a two-day workshop. There, the program will be presented and the expectations towards the participants will be discussed. Participants will receive feedback on their proposals by renowned experts.Participants of the workshop can now apply for the "academy week" with a project sketch of several pages. During this week, knowledge about planning and conducting patient-oriented research will be taught. The 20 participants work on improving their project sketches and present these to the group. Each participant will be provided with an experienced mentor.Participants of the academy week will now submit full project proposals to the DFG. After the funding decision, all applicants will be invited to another workshop where they receive detailed feedback and the decision process will be made transparent. Successful applicants will be invited to another meeting after one year to discuss progress and difficulties of their projects.
