超幾何型関数は古来からリー群の表現論の様々な局面において重要な役割を果たしてきた。即ち,球関数,行列係数,指標等々を表示するものとしてであった。近年,青本やGolfwdたちの超幾何型微分方程式系の一般化によって、代数群論とこの方程式系の新しい関係が発見された。堀田はこの数年,指標方程式とこの超幾何型方程式系の類似に注目し,その同変性を鍵として,同変ホロノミー系の一般論と応用を研究してきた。本年は谷崎による一般Verma加群との深い関係も発見され、その大域的構造の研究も始めた。この方程式系と関係の深いトーラス俗用の幾何については,小田,石田の研究がある。特に石田による交叉ホモロジーの決定は著しい。宇澤は同変K理論と表現論の関係,及び局所体上の代物群の球関係について新しい地検を得た。中島は筋参称体が生成するKa,Msody環の表現の研究で注目されている。長谷川はBelavin模型について新しい結果を得た。
