申請書に於てて記した、大久保タイプの方程式のモノドロミ-が無限discreteになる例を、重要な方程式に対して一つでも見つけたい、という 点については、難問なだけに大きな進展は得られなかった。ただ科研費によって購入したコンピューターを使って今後共計算その他続行してゆく所存であり、今後を見守って頂きたい。それに非常に密接に関連した研究は共同研究者の寺杣によってなされ、一つは射影直線上で確定特異点をもつ微分方程式系について、その行列式に関してロ-モンの積公式の類似が得られ、もう一つは合流型超幾何函数の一般化を定義して、その行列式を求め、更にその有限体上のアナロジーとしてwildな分岐を持つs-関数のε因子を求めて比較した。申請書で述べた解析的な面については、酒井によって、求積領域、即ち調和函数の積分値を変えない領域、を求めることを、一種のbalayageとしてとらえ、その性質を調べて、更に動境界問題へ応用した。又、望月らによって、非線形のdissipative項を持つ波動方程式のコ-シ-問題を考察して、その解のエネルギーが時間t→+coで減衰するかどうかを調べた。又、幾何学的な面では、代表者の佐々井が、平均曲率一定の螺旋面のなす族の境界について調べ、そこにある曲面を全て決定した。又、大仁田らは、リーマン球面から対称空間への調和写像について組織的に調べ、ループ群作用や、モジュライ空間の性質などについて多くの結果を得た。一例として、S^2からS^<11>への調和写像のモジュライ空間の基本群の決定などが掲げられる。
