The aim of this project is the digitalization of the entire archival collection Gemeinschaftliches Hennebergisches Archiv, Sektion I (GHA I) in cooperation with the Thüringer Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek (ThULB Jena) and the online accessibility of digitized data in addition to the since 2012 online available descriptive information in the Archivportal Thüringen.The GHA I collection is one of the most frequently used archival collections in the Landesarchiv Thüringen - Staatsarchiv Meiningen. It contains documents on family matters and on the foreign policy of the Counts of Henneberg, a local noble family, dating from 1179 to 1692.These documents bear witness to the numerous political and private connections between the Henneberg Counts House and various European dynasties. At the same time the collection makes everyday life and the aristocratic representation of the members of a regional noble family in the late Middle Ages and early modern era tangible.The extensive collection of “Neue Zeitungen” included in the GHA I collection provides information on important events throughout Europe for the contemporaries with from 1455 to 1692. It will be recorded and placed online in the central journal server (Zentraler Zeitschriftenserver) of the ThULB Jena. At the same time the collection will be searchable via the central verification systems ZDB, EZB and GVK. Part of the project will be the digitization and vintage-related provision of the newspaper.
