A Comparative Sociological Study on the Publicness in Ordinary Daily Life of Urban Environment

我们讨论了嵌入日常生活中的公众这一新的社会学概念，并确保这一概念对城市环境和城市空间的实证研究有用。我们实际上研究了日本、中国、意大利和德国的许多城市空间案例。嵌入日常生活中的公众这一概念不仅是实证国际比较研究的关键术语，也是社会学理论重构过程中重要的关键概念。我们认为，社会学理论在现在处于危机之中，我们可以通过概念的讨论找到解决方案，将公众嵌入到日常生活中。我们出版了三本书；《东亚公共性的转型》（庆应义塾大学出版社，2010年，日文）、《来自地方社区的公共性》（Minelva出版社，2010年，日文）、《公共性比较研究》（中国社会科学文献出版社，2013年，英文）、《城市环境日常生活中的公共性比较社会学研究》（2013年，名古屋大学，日文）。2012年在札幌举办日本社会学协会年会专题会议“日常生活中的公众嵌入与比较研究”，邀请6位国外学者。

We discussed the new sociological concept, the public embedded in ordinary daily life,and make sure that this concept is useful for the empirical studies on urban environmentand urban space. We actually study many case of urban space in Japan, China, Italy and Germany.The concept , the public embedded in ordinary daily life is not only the key term for empirical international comparative studies, but also critical key co ncept that play important role in the reconstruction process of sociological theory. We think that sociological theory in now in crisis and that we can find resolution through the discussion of the concept , the public embedded in ordinary daily life.We published three books ; The Transformation of the Publicness in East Asia (Keio University Press, 2010, in Japanese), The Publicness from Local Community (Minelva Press, 2010, in Japanese), The Comparative Study of the Publicness, (Social Science Academic Press (China), 2013, in English), and Final report (A Comparative Sociological Study on the Publicness in Ordinary Daily Life of Urban Environment, 2013, Nagoya university , in Japanese,).We hold special session titled the Public Embedded in Ordinary Daily Life and ComparativeStudies in the Japanese Sociological Association Annual Meeting at Sapporo in 2012, inviting 6 abroad scholars.
