项目摘要

『万葉集』の挽歌の表現分析や歌集内部の配列の意義について研究を進めた。論文「柿本人麻呂「泣血哀慟歌」第一歌群の展開」（近日発表予定）では、「泣血哀慟歌」第一歌群が、妻と死別した男の心情を述べるにあたり、修辞的な技術によって、あくまでも妻を求めつづける切迫した心情を実況的に表現することに成功していることを明らかにした。歌に用いられる「道」の語が、対象との親近性と隔絶とを、同時に含意する両義性を持つことに着目して、当該歌に対する新たな見方を提起したものである。研究発表「高市皇子尊「十市皇女挽歌」の表現」（2022年11月、上代文学会）では、十市皇女挽歌の解釈に関する通説を批判的に検討して、壬申の乱を暗示的に語る歌群であることを指摘し、その後の検討も含めて論文として発表予定である。江戸時代以来、近年に至るまで看過されてきた解釈上の問題を整理することで、『万葉集』を歴史書として読み解く方向性に新たな可能性を提起するものである。大伴家持「悲世間無常歌」における、意識的かつ高度な同語反復の手法を「歌句の連携的用法」として指摘した研究発表（2021年10月）の内容を発展させ、その他の家持歌との関係を整理した論文を発表予定である。『万葉集』における「無常」の観念が、歌の表現とも深く結びついていたことを明らかにするとともに、家持歌には、特定の主題を表現するための道具として言葉を自在に活用する姿勢が見られることを明らかにする。また、古典和歌と近現代の短歌との関係を考察した評論を雑誌「現代短歌」2023年3月号などに発表した。和歌の定型が保持されていることが、表現や発想にも影響していることを指摘した。
