本研究課題では、幼児期の双生児と単胎児のきょうだいの社会関係及び社会性の発達について比較研究を行うことを目的としている。本年度は、双生児を対象とした調査についてはデータ収集と分析を行い、単胎児を対象とした調査については本調査実施に向けた準備を行った。双生児の4歳時点のきょうだい関係・親子関係・子どもの社会的認知能力について家庭訪問調査によるデータ収集を実施した。前年度までにデータ収集を完了していた3歳時点のきょうだい関係のデータと合わせて、2時点縦断データに基づいて、3歳時点の双生児のきょうだい関係が4歳時点の子どもの心の理論に及ぼす影響について分析した。分析の結果、きょうだい関係のみに着目すると、きょうだい間のポジティブな情動は一卵性双生児の方が二卵性双生児よりも多く表出されていた。しかし、心の理論への影響については、卵性による差異は見られなかった。3歳時点のきょうだい間のポジティブで同等なやり取りは4歳時点の心の理論の能力を高めることが明らかになった。また、3歳時点の双生児きょうだい間のネガティブなやり取りは4歳時点の心の理論の能力に有意な影響を及ぼさないことがわかったが、これは、年齢差のあるきょうだいを対象とした先行研究とは異なる結果だった。以上の点から、きょうだい間の平等なやり取りである「相互性」も、幼児期の社会性の発達に重要であることが示唆された。また、双生児のきょうだい間のネガティブなやり取りは、年齢差のあるきょうだいとは異なる機能を持つ可能性が考えられた。単胎児については、新たに研究協力者の募集を行い、大学に来校しての調査が実施できる体制を整備した。本年度得られた研究成果については、国際学術誌に投稿中である。また、国内学会のシンポジウムで発表を行った。
