EEG-NIRS-Measurement Unit

By means of an EEG-measurement unit, the research group "Early Language Acquisition" at the Department of Audiology and Phoniatrics at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin aims at characterizing milestones of language acquisition and identifying facilitating and adverse developmental factors. The neuroscientific research agenda will focus on typical language acquisition as well as clinical populations, especially patients with dyslexia, auditory processing disorders and following cochlear implantation. Thus, the agenda will contribute to short and long-term goals in three areas: (1) further characterization of specific disorders, (2) identification of early diagnostic predictors, and (3) evaluation of therapeutic interventions.
