英文摘要
The Joint Research entitled: High-Functionally Graded Materials (HFGM) by Plasma Process, had been promoted during the fiscal year 1999-2001, in order to form high-functionally graded materials and to enhance the performance of those materials by high energy processing. Main researchers of both Japan side and USA side had been visited each other, and collaborated on the experimental and theoretical investigations. The research results of this project obtained in these three years were as follows:1. Functionally Graded Zirconia Coatings, Zirconia/Alumina Composite Coatings and WC Composite Coatings have been formed by the gas tunnel type plasma spraying at Osaka University. The microstructure and properties of these coatings were investigated, and the graded functionality of density, hardness, etc. were clarified2. The characterization of the microstructure and the functionality of obtained HFGM. One example is zirconia, alumina composite coating. The experimental results obtained by bo … More th sides will be compared and discussed. And moreover, it will be promoted to enhance the functionality of obtained HFGM by high-energy plasma etc.3. The studies on the new plasma spraying process for FGM were promoted and TiN thick coating was produced by means of the gas tunnel type plasma reactive spraying. The microstructure and physical properties such as hardness, TiN ratio etc. of these coatings were clarified. This method was established as the new process for producing HFGM.4. Japan side visited UCLA and promoted the collaboration about experimental study on Functionally Graded Zirconia Coatings, Zirconia/Alumina Composite Coatings and WC Composite Coatings formed by the gas tunnel type plasma spraying. And the enhancement of the Graded Functionality of those Zirconia Composite Coatings was achieved by the thermal process using the gas tunnel type plasma spraying and discussed about the graded functionality of those coatings.5. The theoretical study on the Zirconia/Alumina Composite Coatings was investigated and the thermo-dynamical properties of those coatings were clarified. The heat resistance of the composite coating was calculated by using the heat transfer model.6. Those research results obtained were presented at the ISAPS '99, '01, and the Research Meeting 1999-2001. Less
