In incipient stage of Kofun period (3ed to 4th century A.D.), pots used characteristic clay and with typological features, named Kibi type, Sanuki type, Higasi-Awa type, Shounai-Kawati type, Syounai-Yamato type, and so on, were produced at some regions in western Japan. They were characterized by thin walls and standardization.The aim of this study is to recognize production and distribution of these pots. Especially, the cennter of manufacture, the rise and fall of production, and the extent and scale of distribution.In research report, according to distoribution of Kibi type pot, 603samples from 176sites.I examine traffic route in incipient stage of Kofun period. The result indicates that main route from Northern Kyusyu to Yamato (Nara) was through the Seto Inland Sea, Osaka Bay and the old Yamato River, and it had some hub sites.

古坟时代初期（公元3世纪至4世纪），在日本西部的一些地区生产了使用特色粘土并具有类型特征的陶器，称为吉备型、赞岐型、东阿波型、庄内川地型、松内大和型等。它们的特点是薄壁和标准化。本研究的目的是了解这些陶器的生产和销售。特别是制造的中心、生产的兴衰、分布的范围和规模。在研究报告中，根据吉备型壶的分布，从176个地点收集了603个样本。我考察了古坟时代初期的交通路线。结果表明，北九州至大和（奈良）的主要航线经过濑户内海、大阪湾和旧大和河，并有一些枢纽站点。
