This research tries to make clear G.H.Bush administration's Asia policy from the viewpoints of the context of the Republican foreign policy from Ronald Reagan to G.W.Bush, first, and the linkage between idea and process of foreign policy.In the latter half of the administration, Bush's Asia policy was deeply influenced by global factors such as the Gulf War and the demise of the Soviet Union, first, and domestic factors concerning the Presidential election.As a consequence, the idea of Bush Asia policy was unclear and the process of it was confusing.

本研究试图从共和党从罗纳德里根到老布什的外交政策背景、外交政策理念与外交政策过程的联系等角度来梳理老布什政府的亚洲政策，在后半期，布什政府的亚洲政策深受海湾战争和苏联解体等全球性因素的影响，布什的亚洲政策是一个模糊的概念，其过程也是一个混乱的过程。
