本企画調査は、英国サセックス大学Institute of Development Studiesの研究者、研究代表者及び研究分担者、アジア諸国の研究者、という三者をつなぐ研究ネットワークを構築し、将来の国際共同研究の基盤を構築することを目的として実施した。具体的に実施した企画・調査実績の概要は以下の通りである。1)2005年6月26-30日まで、途上国の農水産業に関連したバリューチェーンの研究で世界的に業績のあるジョン・ハンフリー教授をサセックス大学Institute of Development Studiesから本研究科に招聘し、研究打合せを行った。2)10月9-13日まで、英国の上記研究所で開催された「(衛生)基準」と「バリュー・チェーン」に関するワークショップに出席し、同じ分野で研究を実施する世界各国の研究者と情報交換とネットワークの構築を試みた。このワークショップには、事前に共同研究者として連携を築いておいたタイのPrince of Songkla大学の研究者二人を招待し、ジョン・ハンフリー教授、オランダの研究者(インドネシアの水産物貿易が専門)とともに、本企画調査で目指す研究に関する打合せを行った。バングラデシュの研究者1名を本打合せに招待する予定であったが、都合により不参加となった。3)11月28日-12月2日まで、ILOアジア・太平洋地域総支局において、グローバル生産システムに関するワークショップに出席し、その後、研究打合せを行った。ILOアジア・太平洋地域総支局は、1994年以来、労働政策研究・研修機構(厚生労働省所管独立行政法人)と合同で、アジア、太平洋地域の労働研究機関をとりまとめる共同研究ネットワークを運営している。今年度から平成19年度までの期間、アジア・太平洋地域における繊維・縫製業、農水産・食品加工業、サービス業の3セクターで、生産から消費をつなぐグローバル生産システムが途上国の労働者にどのような影響を与えているかをテーマに共同研究を実施する。研究代表者は、この研究のとりまとめ作業を担当することになったため、本企画調査で目指した研究テーマに沿う、国際共同研究ネットワークの構築が同時に達成される見通しがたった。今年度の研究実績は、"The Distributional Effects of Compliance with Food Safety and Agricultural Health Standards on Small Producers in Developing Countries"という題の報告書にまとめ、2005年6月11日に文教大学で開催された国際開発学会の第6回春季大会で報告した。同論文はその後修正を加え、本研究科のワーキング・ペーパーとしてウェブ上に公開した。

This project is conducted by researchers, research representatives and research collaborators of the Institute of Development Studies of the University of Singapore, UK, and researchers from various countries. The detailed implementation plan and survey results are summarized in the following paragraphs. 1)2005 June 26-30, 2010- 2)10 September 9-13, 2009: The United Kingdom's Shanghai Research Institute launched the "(Health) Benchmark" and "Health" related to the exchange of information and the construction of research facilities for researchers from all over the world. The two researchers of the Prince of Songkla University, who were co-researchers and co-researchers in advance, were invited to participate in the project, and the two researchers were invited to participate in the project. 1 researcher in this study will be invited to participate in the study. 3)11 October 28-December 2, ILO Pacific Regional Office, Office of International Trade and Industry, Office of International Trade and Industry. This year, during the 19th year of the year, we will conduct joint research on the impact of production and consumption on the manufacturing industry in the Pacific region, namely, the manufacturing industry, the sewing industry, the agricultural and aquatic products industry, and the service industry. The research representative is responsible for the research and construction of the project. This year's research achievements,"The Distributive Effects of Compliance with Food Safety and Agricultural Health Standards on Small Producers in Developing Countries" report, June 11, 2005, University of Culture and Education opened the 6th Spring Conference of the International Development Society. The same paper was revised and published in this research section.
