R4年度は全体会合を3回、対象国ごとの会合を複数回実施した。R4年5月の全体会合では、研究の目的を確認し、成果物のイメージを共有した。R5年1月の全体会合では、全体の作業方針、国・地域ごとの具体的な作業指針について、打ち合わせを行った。R5年3月の最終会合では、国・地域ごとの分析期間、対象政党、利用可能な資料などについて報告を行い、相互に調整した。加えて、本科研メンバーを主体とする研究会（比較政党政治研究会）も1回開催した。上記の会合を通じて、具体的には、下記を確認し、決定した。本研究の目的：西欧・南欧、中東欧・北東アジア・東南アジアの政党を比較することにより、国家・社会関係における政党のグローバルな収斂を検証する。西欧・南欧では、政党は社会に基礎を置くものから国家資源に依存するものへ（社会から国家へ）、中東欧・北東アジア・東南アジアでは、政党は国家に依拠するものから社会に進出するものへ（国家から社会へ）、という収斂説の妥当性を検証する。本研究の分析枠組み：「政党の制度化」概念を用いて、得票変動に対する政党の組織的対応と公式制度の変化との関係を検証する。政党の対社会関係では「政党レジリエンス論」の妥当性について、政党の対国家関係では公式制度の党派的利用について検証する。具体的には、得票変動、政党組織（構造）、政党組織（意思決定）、公式制度に注目する。各章で明らかにしたい問い：得票変動に対して政党はどのように組織的に対応しているか。得票変動に対して政党はどのように公式制度を利用しているか。分析の対象／データ／方法：クリティカル・ポイント（民主化／制度改革）のt-2時点くらいからスタート、主要政党＋挑戦者政党／各国固有のデータを中心に利用／質的、記述的、歴史的方法、ただし量的手法を排除しない。
