ソフトウェア構成のためのオブジェクトベースに関して以下のような研究成果をえた。片山は、ソフトウェアデータベースの記述体系であるオブジェクト指向属性文法OOAGの高速な処理系、特に評価器の高速化、グラフィカルユーザインタフェースの応答性の向上を考慮した構成法および永続的オブジェクトの実現方法に関する研究を行なった。その結果、実用的なソフトウェアオブジェクトベースの構成に利用可能なシステムを構成することが出来た。土居は、ソフトウェアオブジェクトベースの具体例としてC++のクラスライブラリの再利用を目的とするC++プログラムベースの設計・構築を行なった。本研究では、従来のファイルシステムベースであったクラスライブラリを、オブジェクト指向データベースを用いることでオブジェクトベースに変換することによりプログラムコードの問合せ機能を提供し、再利用効率を向上させることが出来た。田中は、ソフトウェアオブジェクトベースには通常のデータベースとことなる技術が要求れさるという観点に立って、ソフトウェアデータベースに適したハイパーテキストデータベースシステムの構築技術の研究、データベース質問のメソッド化と述語ベースの動的メソッド束縛機構、およびインスタンス間継承とレイヤに基づくオブジェクトの多重ビューの実現機構の研究を行ないソフトウェアオブジェクトベースの要件を明らかにした。徳田は、ソフトウェア開発過程の支援に必要となるオブジェクトベースの構成に必要な属性依存関係に基づく問合せ処理の効率化、オブジェクトベースのマルチメディア化、ソフトウェアオブジェクトの制約記述法およびソフトウェアオブジェクトの制約評価法について研究を行ない、命令型制約文法と時間属性超グラフ文法および制約の評価法デルタブルー法の改良を得た。
