Construction of e-textbook for the education of the special radiologist

Electronic textbook is useful for the education of the special radiologist. We developed the card-type database of the images of the various diseases. We have queried and imported the key images from the PACS (picture archiving communication system) in the Department of Radiology, Yamaguchi University Hospital. We developed the card-type database of the teaching file in the FileMakerPro. Diagnosis, comments, teaching points with key images were added in the FileMakerPro. Radiologist can search the cases by query of each organ, each modality, and difficulty level and study effectively.We designed a web-based radiology-teaching library system that can collect imaging cases widely via the Internet and enables submitters and reviewers to do collaborative work in registering teaching cases without temporal or spatial restriction.
