By taking advantage of the DFG grant funding for OA publication fees, the Dresden University of Applied Sciences would like to configure the structural, organisational and financial framework conditions for OA publishing at the university. With the implementation of the planned measures, the number and costs of all publications by university members should be recorded as completely as possible, and the financing of APCs should be clearly regulated and ensured in the future. The development of a publication guide will also raise awareness and provide guidance for members of the university on all relevant aspects of publishing at HTW Dresden, which will address the requirements of third-party funding providers as well as the rules of good scientific practice in this context. As a central element of the publication guidelines, a compulsory library regulation for university publications will improve the data basis for monitoring the volume of publications in the future. With knowledge of the publication volume and the financial expenses incurred for it, the Open Access transformation process at the university can be shaped in a sustainable and demand-oriented manner.
