都市活動は、大量のエネルギ-によって支えられているが、都市活動が環境に与える負荷を軽減するためには、エネルギ-消費の削減が肝要である。都市では、一次エネルギ-の直接的な消費と財・サ-ビスを通じた間接的なエネルギ-の消費が行われている。本研究では、産業関連モデルに基づいて、内包エネルギ-の概念を用いた都市エネルギ-消費構造分析モデルを構築し、実際の地域・都市レベルでの適用を試みた。都市に投入された直接・間接エネルギ-は、都市内の産業連関を経て最終的には都市の最終生産を形成する。都市の最終生産を形成するエネルギ-の構成について、最終生産の種類別(最終消費、資本形成、在庫増加、移輸出)に見る分析と、エネルギ-の種類別(直接エネルギ-、間接エネルギ-)に見る分析を行った。後者の分析では、全エネルギ-消費に占める間接的あるいは直接的なエネルギ-消費の割合を求めることにより、その都市のエネルギ-的外部依存性・内部自立性を検討することができる。以上のような手法により、愛知県、福岡市、北九州市において地域・都市のエネルギ-消費構造を検討した。その結果、愛知県では間接的なエネルギ-消費の比率が大きく、全エネルギ-消費の約70%が移輸出に投入されており、財を移輸入して財を移輸出する加工型の地域であること、福岡市では間接的なエネルギ-消費の比率が大きいものの消費に投入されるエネルギ-が大きく、財を移輸入してそれを消費する消費型の都市であること、北九州市では直接的なエネルギ-消費が全体の約60%を占め、とくに移輸出の生産に投入されるエネルギ-の割合が約50%であり、一次エネルギ-を移輸して財を移輸入する生産型の都市であることが分析できた。
