项目摘要

本研究における4年間を通じての研究課題は、「古典学のための情報処理」である。特に,日本古典文学とその周辺に研究対象をしぼり,標準的な電子化テキストの実証的研究とその高次活用のための流通方式の開発研究を目的とした。本年度の研究実績を以下に要約する。1.標準的な電子化テキストの作成では,古典学における電子化テキストの有効な構築法を実証的に検討するため,国際標準に基づいたマークアップ(SGML/XML)による電子化テキストを作成し,実証実験を進め,評価及び実用化を進めた。とりわけ,前期の研究成果であるKOKINルールに基づく日本古典文学本文データベースを基に,データ構造の変換法を確立し,テキストデータの共有化を促進した成果は大きい。さらに,原本イメージ情報とそのテキストとの比較や対応を含むマルチメディア処理の研究を進め,成果を得た。2.テキストデータベースの流通では,特に,インターネットを前提とし,日本古典文学本文データベースの実用版として,CSS(クライアントサーバシステム)によるデータベースサービス環境を構築して実用レベルの運用管理を実装し,提供している。利用者も4年間の実績で2,000人を超えると共にアクセス件数も約10万件に及び,極めて有効であるとの高い評価を得ている。3.コラボレーション研究では,複数の情報資源をネットワークで統合し,利用者に仮想的に1つの情報資源を提供し,共同研究を実施するための研究環境である,コラボレーションシステムの開発研究を開始し,成果を得た。分散情報資源の相互利用法による新しい古典学の形成の可能性を探る研究課題の基に,Dublin CoreによるメタデータとZ39.50による標準検索プロトコルの利用可能性を研究し,その有用性を確認した。※ホームページ日本古典文学本文データベース(試験公開)http://www.nijl.ac.jp/国際コラボレーション計画http://world.nijl.ac.jp/〜kiban-s/
