项目摘要

2002年6月に東京で行われた第5回全体会議の講演会で,柴田は「環南太平洋の調査の現状,問題点と今後課題」と題して,環南太平洋調整班に属する各研究者の計画研究の進行状況と問題点を総括した。この地域においては,消滅の危機に瀕している多くの未記載言語があり,言語学者にはそれらの記載が求められている。また,それらの消滅に瀕している未記載言語に関わる言語社会学的および言語政策的な探求と提言も言語学者の任務の一部である。2002年11月に京都で行われた第6回全体会議の班別会議では,南米およびオーストラリアからの参加者を含めて,各研究者の計画研究の最終段階での成果に関する発表および討論を行なった。参加した研究者には,1)たまたま未記載の母語(母文化)を記載している場合,2)自己の居住地域(出身地域)の非母語を記載している場合,3)自己の居住地域(出身地域)以外の未記載の非母語を記載している場合,などがあった。場合に応じて,記載項目に大きな偏移が見られた。偏移は,標準の確立を要求しているのではなく,むしろ将来の共同研究の方向を示している。代表者,分担者および協力者の論文・資料・報告を集めて,「環南太平洋の言語 2」および「環南太平洋の言語 3」を編集した。

At the presentation session of the 5th plenary meeting held in Tokyo in June 2002, Shibata presented a summary of the progress of research projects and problems of researchers belonging to the South Pacific Rim Adjustment Program on the topic "Current status, problems and future issues of research in the South Pacific Rim." This region is in danger of extinction. Many unrecorded words are in danger of extinction. Language scholars are in danger of extinction. The study of language sociology and language policy is part of the responsibility of language scholars. In November 2002, the sixth plenary session of Kyoto was held at a shift meeting, and participants were included in the discussion on the results of the final stage of each researcher's project. For participants, 1) mother tongue (mother culture) that is not recorded, 2) non-mother tongue (mother culture) that is not recorded in one's area of residence (area of origin), and 3) non-mother tongue (mother culture) that is not recorded outside one's area of residence (area of origin).
